Solar Blinds UK – Produce your own energy

SMART SOLAR BLINDS WITH BUILT-IN SOLAR PANELS

With our unique method of energy production, we are creating a better and more sustainable future!

SAVINGS DIRECTLY TO YOU

30% lower bills

Installed on the outside of the building, SolarGaps smart blinds provide shade and ensure maximum efficiency in generating green energy and cooling the apartment. This way you can save up to 30% on electricity bills and reduce the need for air conditioning. The energy generated by the sun can be used to charge electronic devices.

100 W / hour generator

Our smart blinds generate about 100 W per m² during sunny hours, which is enough to charge a smartphone, a laptop or power a TV. SolarGaps can help everyone, by taking advantage of photovoltaics. Reduce your CO₂ footprint even if there is no possibility to mount a solar panel on a roof.

Government support

Due to environmental problems such as global warming, air pollution or acid rain, many countries around the world offer loans, investments and tax breaks to provide a positive environmental impact. Government programmes differ from country to country. For example, the European Union may cover part of the cost of installing a photovoltaic system on building facades.

HOW SOLARGAPS WORKS

SOLAR ENERGY GENERATION
Our aim is to generate power as simply as possible.

SolarGaps are smart blinds that automatically track the sun and produce energy while acting as sun protection and keeping the interior cool. Installed on the outside of the building, the blinds track the sun, providing active shading while generating enough energy to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%. SolarGaps users see an immediate reduction in energy costs. The electricity generated by SolarGaps can be fed directly back into the building’s energy system.

SOLARGAPS ADVANTAGES

The two main features, photovoltaic power generation and smart solar protection, are combined to offer the best living comfort and maximum financial contribution.

You save on both your electricity bill and running costs for air conditioning. Solargaps is an all-in-one solution. It is simple to connect and the energy generated will be fed back into the grid, therefore reduce your energy consumption from the supplier. If you use a house battery, the solargaps system can be plugged directly into the socket and used when you need it. Just a small window of about 1 m² with solargaps can reduce electricity consumption by 100 watts per hour.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS

PANOU JALUZELE

• OPERATING TEMPERATURE FROM -20°C TO 60°C
• EXTERNAL INSTALLATION
• TESTED TO EUROPEAN STANDARDS
• DURABLE MATERIALS
• FULLY RETRACTABLE
• 2 YEARS WARRANTY WITH A MINIMUM LIFETIME OF 15 YEARS

The SolarGaps system consists of solar panels mounted with a strong steel wire or sturdy conductors to ensure a secure fit, even in strong winds. The blinds can be fully raised and are protected by a protective box. The system is connected to the grid via an inverter that converts the generated energy into electricity.
The operating temperature of the SolarGaps blinds ranges from -20°C to 60°C at 80% humidity. In case of emergency, the blinds should be retracted completely. The SolarGaps warranty is two years with a minimum lifetime of at least 15 years.

MOTOR

 STURDY AND DURABLE
• QUIET OPERATION (50 DB)
• OPERATES FROM -20 TO 70°C
• CONTROLLED BY ELECTRONIC MODULE

The Electronic Management Device (EMD), designed and patented by SolarGaps, is responsible for the slats position, enabling a “smart tracking” function while controlling the production of electricity. Then the data is sent from the blinds system to the cloud platform and mobile application.
To perform these functions as efficiently as possible a high-quality Somfy electric motor is used. To ensure optimal cooperation between the motor and the Solar Gaps EMD. This can operate at temperatures starting from -20°C.
Since the system is mounted externally, the noise level produced by the engine is ultra low and will barely be heard from inside.
The motor’s power consumption is obviously insignificant compared to the amount of power generated by the SolarGaps solar panels.

INVERTER

The direct current (DC) energy generated by a solar panel is not useful on its own as most households and offices using alternating current (AC). A solar inverter or a photovoltaic (PV) inverter converts DC energy into AC energy for powering appliances connected to the grid.
SolarGaps system is connected to your home electrical grid or to the battery storage through the certified micro inverter that makes solar energy compatible with it.
The inverter is sold separately but is provided already attached to the system so that you only have to plug in the SolarGaps system before the solar energy will power your devices and home appliances.
The high-quality inverters we chose for our smart solar blinds are practically silent and do not produce any noise emission. Our customers often choose to attach their inverters in the hidden place, like under the windowsill.

 HIGH AVERAGE EFFICIENCY (95%)
• CONVERTOR DC / AC
• GLOBALLY CERTIFIED C-ETL-US, TÜV, CE, SAA
• NO NOISE EMISSION

SOLAR PANEL

• 22,4% EFFICIENCY
• 25 YEARS LIFESPAN
• SELF-CLEANING ETFE COATING
• SWISS ALUMINIUM SLATS
• 100W PER 1 M²
 PER HOUR

We always choose what is best for our product and that is why we use the SunPower C60 solar elements made of laminated monocrystalline silicon cells with 22,4% efficiency.
The ETFE-coated SunPower C60 solar cells integrated into Swiss aluminium panels ensure the solar panels can generate around 100 watts per square metre during daytime. The surface of the solar cells is designed so that they can be easily cleaned when needed, even though most of the dirt is washed away naturally by rain and snowmelt.
The lifespan of solar panels is at least 25 years. However, this doesn’t mean that your PV panels won’t be able to do their job after that, it just means that after two decades of usage the efficiency of solar panels will slowly start to decrease. Usually, solar panels degrade by about 1% each year and it is quite common for a 20-year-old, high-quality solar cells to perform at 80% of their original productivity.

MOBILE APP

You can get all the benefits of using SolarGaps smart external blinds with an easy-to-use app, available for Android and iOS.
SolarGaps blinds are connected to your smartphone via Wi-Fi.
For the SolarGaps app to work flawlessly, a high-quality signal is required.
Regardless of where you are in the world or how far away you are from home, you can still control the position of the slats.
The features will help you look like you never left your home and contribute to the safety of your house. The remote control is also useful if you’re not at home when a storm is approaching.
You can get reports and control the blinds with your smartphone or integrate it into your smart home system as it is fully compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
In addition to generating power, SolarGaps helps you with daily routines like opening windows in the morning and keeping your apartment private at night.
